New Arrivals 2005 Renzo Masi Erta A China Rosso di Toscana: From Italy. This Tuscan red demonstrates the flexibility of the IGT regulations with a non-traditional blend of 50% Sangiovese and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 14 months in a combination of French and American Oak. Inky dark garnet, almost black, it shows bright reddish-purple glints against the light. It exudes aromatic, dark fruits, dried cherries and spice. Subtle oak flavors. The finish is beautiful, clean and lingering. An impressive, full-bodied wine. Great value.

2006 Leo Hillinger Welschriesling: From Burgenland, Austria. A wonderful, refreshing dry white wine. Delicate green apple overtones with a fresh citrus/lime backbone and a dry finish. This varietal is no relation to the German Riesling grape, and is more akin to Portuguse Vinho Verde or Loire Muscadet in style. 2007 Vinedo de los Vientos Alcyone: From Atlantida, Uruguay. Made from 100% Tannat, this dessert wine has polished tannins, a radiant yet amber purple hue and a honey-like texture. Touched with a bouquet of winter flowers, vanilla bean and wild apple mint indulged with a warmth and savor of white cacao souffle. Alcyone a greek demi-goddess was the daughter of Eolo and wife of Ceyx. She became the goddess of calm and tranquility. This wine is delicious!

2005 Las Rocas Vinas Viejas Garnacha: From Calatayud, Spain. 91 Points-The Wine Advocate. The 2005 Vinyas Viejas comes from high altitude, low yeilding 100+ year old Grenache vines and is aged in French and American oak. It is the big brother to the regular Garnacha. More aromatic than its sibiling, it has a splendid perfume of spice box, lavender, kirsch, and blueberry. Polished, elegant and layered with soft lush fruit. It is also a bit richer and longer in the finish. It has a complexity and flavor profile unheard of at this price point! 2006 Kunin Zinfandel: From Paso Robles, California. 100% Zinfandel. Fruit forward with sweet, dark red fruit and spice in the nose, with the same jammy fruits and pleanty of spice on the palate. Full-bodied but not heavy, the wine has moderate tannin structure. Good acidity and intensity of fruit lead to a medium-long finish. Not port-like or overdone, but a BIG Zinfandel that carries its weight and finishes cleanly. 2006 Kunin Pape Star: From Central Coast, California. A blend of 50% Grenach, 25% Mourvedre and 25% Syrah. This wine was inspired by the wines of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. No new oak was used in the aging of this wine, its richness and complexity are purely functions on the vineyards unique terrior. Cherries, and cassis are on the nose, with smoke/spice on the palate, with an underlying earthy note. Bright acidity and light tannins. Finishes cleanly with finesse.

2006 Trapiche Broquel Pinot Noir: From Mendoza, Argentina. 100% Pinot Noir. This wine has expressive spices, intense black fruit and sweet cherry aromas and flavors on the palate. The tannins are sweet and ripe, and the wine's fruit has depth and complexity in the mouth. Matches well with veal, salmon, fowl, and chicken. This is a great Pinot Noir for this price point. 2002 Vinosia Taurasi: From Garantita, Italy. A dry red wine made from 100% Agliancio. Mid-level acidity and fine-grained tannins. Blueberry, blackberry, black raspberry, black cherry, dark chocolate and allspice combine rather smoothly on the palate. This wine shows full body and deep extraction. It has a long silky finish that leaves a sensation of ripe concentrated fruit partnered with tannins and acidity that have nicely evolved. Simply delicious!

Fleshy orchard fruit flavors offer good coverage and are firmed by lighter citrus pith. Richer than many versions of this variety." Good with seafood, spicy food or all by itself.

2005 Airlie Dry Riesling: From Wiliamette Valley, Oregon. Dry in style and full of complexity this wine is an excellent food match. 2006 Cortijo III Tinto: From Rioja, Spain. 88 points-International Wine Cellar. This is the first vintage made by the new wine maker David Sampedro. 80% Tempranillo 20% Garnacha. 2006 was a warm vintage in Rioja, so the fruit was very ripe. Spicy cherry and berry aromas with hints of dark chocolate. On the palate this wine is luscious, full of dense fruit with a bright clean finish. This is one of our best sellers!
2006 Cortijo III White: From Rioja, Spain. 87 Points-International Wine Cellar. 100% Viura, a typical white grape from Rioja. Viura is not considered to be very aromatic in Rioja. In order to make it more aromatic, the wine maker extends the maseration of the grapes and then runs it through oak barrels, then it goes through a cool maseration and cool fermentation. "Light yellow. Pungent peach and white flowers on the nose. Soft and creamy, with ripe pear and pit fruit flavors, soft acidity and a broad, leesy finish leaving behind a melony impression.
